John Murphy, an Independent Licensed Agent with the David M. Gilston Insurance Agency, attended the University of North Alabama, studying business accounting. He became an Independent Licensed Agent with the David M. Gilston Insurance Agency in 1984, focusing his efforts in the Individual and Group Health Insurance markets. Shortly thereafter, John achieved his Health Insurance Associate designation. This certification is offered to insurance professionals who have passed the America’s Health Insurance Plans course of study.
John primarily works in the Small Group Health Insurance market, but also assists Seniors and Individuals who are looking to purchase medical and ancillary coverage.
John is an active member of the 32nd Scottish Rite Omar Shrine, currently serving as the Director of VIP Unit. He is also a 3rd degree mason. John is a past member of the Blue Cross Blue Shield Honor Council.
