Individuals/Family Products

Contrary to popular belief, individual insurance plans are not necessarily the most expensive. If you need individual coverage, an agent can help you determine the best plan at a price you can afford. By working with an insurance agent, you also have the benefit of having one person handle all your insurance needs from health and dental to life and vision.

Just as you ensure your children have proper food, clothing and education, their health is just as important. Working with an insurance agent allows you to learn about plans specifically designed for your child.

Work with one of our agents – at no extra cost – to evaluate your situation and create an insurance plan that meets your needs and budget! Contact us by calling 800.445.7866 or e-mailing individual@dgilston.com today!

MAJOR MEDICAL

Individual health insurance is now available to everyone regardless of age or any health conditions you may have. Depending on your circumstances, you may qualify for a government subsidy to help pay your premium. Open enrollment or special enrollment requirements may apply.

SHORT-TERM MEDICAL

Did you miss the current open enrollment period to apply for health insurance? Short-term medical policies are designed to provide coverage for a specific period of time. If you need insurance to cover you until the next open enrollment period or for any reason this may be the ideal product for you. It can be written for whatever your need and is very affordable.

SIMPLIFIED UNIVERSAL

Simplified issue universal life plans are life insurance programs with more lenient underwriting requirements. Applicants are generally underwritten based on the information disclosed on the application without any type of Para-med or physical exam. These programs are generally easier for clients to secure coverage, however, the cost per thousand dollars in coverage is typically more expensive and insureds are limited to the amount of protection he or she may purchase.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY

Long-term disability (LTD) plans provide protection against loss of earnings due to disabling injury or sickness. Those insured select a waiting period that must be met before benefits begin, how long the benefits are payable, as well as many optional benefits such as residual benefits and cost-of-living adjustments. These programs are strictly underwritten and individuals can usually secure coverage of up to 66 2/3% of their pre-disability earnings.

INDIVIDUAL DENTAL COVERAGE

Regular dental checkups are important when it comes to the health of your teeth. Many people wait to see a dentist when they have a problem which often results in expensive treatment, which may have been avoided, had they had regular checkups. Many times the reason they don’t get regular checkups is because they do not have insurance. Many people don’t realize they can purchase dental insurance individually. Also, many employers no longer help pay for dental insurance because the medical premiums have increased. Dental plans can be purchased individually and are very affordable.

LIFE INSURANCE

Do you have a mortgage, own a business, have car payments, or credit card debt? Are you married, have young children or children about to start college. Many of us don’t understand the importance of protecting your family’s future. Our agents can show you how to buy affordable life insurance, which will protect the future of your family as well as your business.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

If you're thinking about leaving your home country, whether for business or for pleasure, you'd better think about purchasing travel medical insurance. Most insurance policies, both group and individual, provide little, if any, health coverage for expenses incurred outside of your home country.

With over 45 years of experience in the insurance industry, Global Underwriters has established itself as a leader in the development, administration and marketing of international health and life insurance products.
