Marshall Pickens, a Staff Agent with the David M. Gilston Insurance Agency, graduated from Anderson University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and is a Riley Fellow from the Riley Institute at Furman University.  After working in the banking industry for 11 years, he recently joined the Gilston Agency, focusing his efforts on Individual and Small Group Health Insurance.

As a licensed staff health insurance agent, Marshall’s goal is to become a true consultant, assessing individual and small group client unique needs, advising on various health plan options based on an in-depth analysis, and assisting clients to make informed decisions that provide the best, most affordable health insurance.  While working closely with Tom Swayne, a 43-year leading producer who is considered to be an expert in the industry, Marshall has the unique opportunity to work closely within his hometown community while having access to resources and support that span over 50 years across the State. 

Marshall is on the Planning Commission for the City of Anderson, a trustee of the AnMed Health Foundation, a board member of the Friends of the Anderson County Museum, and a member of the Rotary Club of Greater Anderson.  He was also the recipient of the 20 Under 40 by the Anderson Independent Mail in 2016.

On a personal level, Marshall and his wife, Michelle, live in Anderson with their three children, who are all very active in the community.  They enjoy outdoor activities, particularly spending time on Lake Hartwell.
