Term life insurance is the most straightforward and often the least expensive type of life insurance coverage.  Term life insurance covers someone for a set period of time, such as 15 or 20 years.  If they die during that period, the beneficiary receives a death benefit. If they live beyond that period, they may continue with the policy, but their premiums will generally increase.
